Fun little Events in Spain

Back in Spain we have had a lot of fun hanging out as a group. The weather is not the best for swimming any more so we have had to find other things to do. Kira, another student, is very talented at planning events. She has planned so many fun little get togethers for all of us. First was an ice cream social. We set a theme to dress up as disney characters. None of us have much money to buy costumes so we had to get creative. In my opinion, it makes it a lot more fun when we had to put together a costumes out of things that we find.

Playing I've never ever. Someone says something that they have never ever done. But if you have done that thing you have to get up and move.

We all had a blast dressing up, eating ice cream and playing games.
We had bunch of birthdays in a week and this time we planned a Birthday Iron Chef. We were all given different ingredients and 20 minutes to create a dessert. This was very difficult because one of our ingredients was egg plant. None of the desserts tasted very good, but they were a lot of fun to make.

Yum!

The Winners!

All of us girls went on a shopping trip before we went to Ireland. It was so much fun! It is little more of an effort to shop here because we can't just jump in our car and drive to the mall. But at least the bus ride is short.

Porto Pi is the big shopping mall that is closest to us. Even though we haven't heard of most of the shops, we still enjoyed looking around and finding new clothes.

They did have a Disney Store though! It made me very happy!!

This mall is where I got Dunkin Donuts Coffee! It is the best coffee I've had since I've been in Europe!

One things that we did before the weather got cooler was a BBQ! Some wonderful people at the church, had all of us students over for dinner. They have the students come every semester. We had amazing food and fellowship! They had a beautiful house and yard. It was a lot of fun!

All these events are a little out of order but they are all big highlights. I will post again tomorrow  and maybe the next day and hopefully I will be caught up then! Thanks for reading.

Ireland

I have realized that I haven't posted on my blog in weeks! It is very hard to find time. So much has happened since my last post! Last month we went on a mission trip to Dublin, Ireland. We went to help with the first ever Calvary Chapel Conference in Ireland. It was a privilege to be apart of.

Ireland has always been a place I wanted to visit, but our time there was limited and we really didn't get any time to see Dublin. Even though we would have liked to see Dublin, I still feel like I was able to experience Ireland. The Conference was held in a manor that was over 250 years old. I felt like I just walked into Pride and Prejudice.

We were there to work but we did have lots of fun! We were able to meet so many awesome people. Probably the craziest thing that happened was when the people from the conference pulled out their bag pipes and fiddles and a ceili broke out. (A ceili is an Irish dance, where they are all in a circle and spinning around and clap their hands) I thought to myself, "This would be crazy to miss!" So I stood in the back and watched. However this was not a bright idea, after a few minutes I found myself being physically carried into the crowd. Although my face was probably as red as a tomato, it was a lot of fun. I wish I had pictures of everyone dancing but it was all kinda crazy I didn't find a moment to grab my camera.
I am Irish by the way, and I guess that it is true when they talk about the luck of the Irish.

I will post in a day or so to try and catch up. It might take me a few days but I will make a sincere effort.
